Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) is a practical, hands‑on training programme designed to equip learners with the essential skills and confidence to respond effectively in a wide range of workplace emergencies. Ideal for low‑risk environments or as an introduction to first aid, this one‑day course covers the critical actions required to preserve life, prevent deterioration, and promote recovery until professional help arrives.

What the Course Covers

Participants will learn how to:

• Assess an emergency situation safely and effectively
• Provide CPR and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
• Manage an unconscious casualty (including recovery position)
• Recognise and treat choking
• Control severe bleeding and manage shock
• Respond to common workplace injuries such as burns, minor wounds, and fractures
• Understand the responsibilities of a workplace first aider

Learning Approach

Training is delivered through a mix of tutor-led instruction, group discussion, and realistic practical scenarios. This ensures learners build both practical capability and confidence in applying first aid skills under pressure.
