If you’ve never done any first aid training, then we can appreciate that there are number of different courses to choose from.
To help you decide which course is right for you, in this week’s blog we have decided to give you a bit more detail about each of our first aid courses.
How to choose a first aid course: first aid at work training
3 day first aid at work course
The 3 day first aid at work course is the initial course for most first aiders in the workplace. After completing this training, you’ll become a fully qualified first aider.
All our first aid training is carried out to the standards set by the HSE and the European resuscitation council.
Your certificate will be valid for 3 years and after it expires, you’ll need to go on a refresher course to keep your skills up to date.
2 day first aid at work course
If you have previously completed the 3 day first aid at work course and want to update your certificate, then you should apply for the 2 day first aid at work course to brush up on your first aid training.
The HSE recommends that anyone who has an FAW qualification should attend a short 3 hour course annually designed to maintain their skills.
1 day emergency first aid course
This course is good for general first aid training, as its a short programme designed to cover the needs of small low risk companies. On successful completion of this course, you’ll be awarded an EFAW certificate valid for 3 years.
What about assessments?
The 3 day first at work course consists of both a theory and practical assessment, the same applies for the 2 day refresher course. There are no exams or assessment in the 1 day emergency first aid course.
First aid at work evening classes
We understand that it’s not always possible to attend first aid classes during the day, so we are now offering evening classes to give our customers greater flexibility with our first aid training options.
Good luck with your first aid training, I hope you found this article helpful. If I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
